Wow-what can I say about these islands. They are absolutely amazing-the waters like you have never seen, privacy if you want it, great shopping, wonderful people and music. If you are looking for all inclusives, then don't choose these islands. You may find one or two but there is so much more to choose from. I can't say which I liked the best. Tortola was amazing and we actually camped in a wonderful area that basically we had to ourselves. The cove was all ours and we would wake up daily and swim, snorkel, come back for breakfast (everything provided but our food), get dressed and off to check out the island(s). Very easy for day trips over to St. Thomas and St. John and we did just that. Had lunch at the Hard Rock in St. Thomas, did some shopping and toured the island. St. John and all its beauty and ecological concerns is not to be missed for some of the best snorkeling (one day we may be brave enough to take diving lessons). Rented a 48' catamaran for the day with 6 other people and it was like our own yacht. Best day trip we ever had. Off to Virgin Gorda for some snorkeling, plus quite a few others. Is was so quiet with the wind in the sails, the most beautiful water you have ever seen-didn't want it to end.
The people are so friendly and we just stood at the top of the road and people stopping to ask if we needed rides into town-which we did-chickens and all. If you want amazing waters, excellent scenery, good seafood and so much to do, please consider a Virgin Islands vacation-remember St. Thomas, St. John and St. Croix you don't need passports (US Virgin Islands) but for the British Virgin Islands you do.
