Kona area

I want to spend some time in the Kona area. The beaches in this area are somewhat rocky and not always the sandy beaches we sometimes are looking for, but rocky (without the waves) means good snorkeling. If you want some nice snorkeling go to Kealakekau Bay-great kayaking, dolphins everywhere. This is also where Captain Cooks Memorial and the Place of Refuge are. Great historical spots and some culture of the past at the Place of Refuge. You can pick up a kayak on the way (from Kona) and they will place it on the top of your car for you. Very easy to manage! Some nice coffee plantations and some great healthy foods along the way-smoothies, etc. It is definitely an all day venture at these areas-don't forget the sunscreen
