Part 3 of the Sandals Mega Fam-Royal Bahamian Spa and Offshore Island

After a great and busy two days at Turks and Caicos we are now off for a quick adventure to Nassau and the Royal Bahamian. Upon our arrival into Nassau we were whisked to our buses for the short ride to the resort which is on the famous Cable Beach. Our driver was so informative sharing some things about the island: ie; where movies were made, areas where some celebrities lived and also a famous road named after John F. Kennedy who visited the island frequently.

Upon arriving at the resort our tour began from the spa, fitness center, restaurants, wedding gazebos and the many different rooms (and believe me Sandals is known for their MANY room catagories). You can get a "basic" room which is very lovely with a 4 poster mahogany bed up to concierge and then butler service rooms. These aren't just any butlers but are trained by the Guild of Professional English Butlers. NO, you many not take them home!!

This resort for some reason took me back in time since its beginning in 1946. Since I am of English decent (Churchill), I was in awe gazing at the old photos of the Royal family and friends that frequented here. The Balmoral Club was quite the playground for the Duke of Windsor and many others. Put yourself in that time period-how fun!

The restaurants in which there are 9 range from the elegant dining of the Baccarat to the authentic Cricketer's Pub. Believe me you will never be without some amazing food! The pools (there are 3) are unbelievable with a great view of the ocean and the offshore island. They have theme nights, managers cocktail parties, honemooner's cocktail receptions and daily tea parties.

We then were taken by their boat over to Sandals Cay. We were greated with fresh conch which was excellent and then off to the beach for a special buffet lunch and local entertainment. I could have spent the entire time here. They have a pool, restaurant and bar, zen garden, massages available on the beach-a very peaceful and VERY romantic island. Then to our surprise we were greated by Sandals owner "Butch" Stewart who flew from his home in Jamaica to tell us how much he appreciated us. What an honor and a very down to earth, giving and special person he is.

Back to the main island again only to have to depart for California. As we left the resort the staff were in the driveway with a baner stating "WE LOVE YOU CALIFORNIA AND COME BACK SOON." Believe me I will!! until next time
