We now are leaving Exuma for Turks and Caicos to stay 2 nights at Beaches Resort by Sandals. Leaving Exuma we are caught in a downpour and for the short 45 minute flight to Turks it was extended by about an hour due to the storm. Once we arrived customs and getting to our transfers went very smoothly and we were glad to get to our resort, take a shower and eat again! Our room was in the Caribbean Village-there are 3-Caribbean, Italian and French Villages. Now I know my way around driving, etc. but for some reason I was turned around at this resort-going the wrong direction pretty much of the time, but finally figured it out towards the end.
This resort is amazing with 16 excellent restaurants, butler service, Pirate Island themed aqua playground for the kids (adults seemed to like it as well) and so many characters from Sesame Street-you can even have Elmo or one of his friends come to your room and read your child a bed time story and tuck them in-very cute. We saw adults, families, honeymooners and singles at this resort and everyone seemed to enjoy it. The water sports were amazing and I even went out on a Hobie Cat and saw their "mascot" JoJo the dolphin which has been there 16+ years. She shows up when you hit the side of your boat and then off she goes.
We tasted just about as much food as we could in the 2 days we were there and the service and ambiance of the restaurants was just amazing-that is why Sandals is "luxury". Also remember that Sandals are Green Globe properties and there is a Sandals Foundation that is a non-profit organization that plays a role in the lives of the communities. The staff at these resorts are the kindest, most gentle people. This is a great resort for reunions, girls getaways, honeymoons-just about anything you can think of.
